I am blessed because I am living such a comfortable life, playing sports, joking with friends, using the internet and sleeping whenever I want,
when some people are using their last bit of strength to make sure they survive hunger,illness and pain.

I am blessed because I have friends to talk to when I'm in pain, to laugh with and to be my help when I'm in need,
when there are people who feel sad, sorrow and pain without anyone
to lean on.

I am blessed because I have a caring Mum, an awesome Dad and a loving little sister,while there are people who will never know who their parents are.

I am blessed because I know I am loved by God.
The people in pain, the people in hunger, the people in sorrow,
the people who lost everything, the people who kill, the people who
steal, the people who hate, the people who persecute, the people who is the worst of all
- humans, are loved by God. They just need to know it.

As I looked on the family and friends there.

As I looked at how Wah Loon and Sean broke down into tears.

The wailing, I know will never fade from my heart.

I saw Crystal, with a blank expression,

I couldn't look into her eyes,

It was as if she's saying, what happened? Now what?

I can never forget the scene.

I saw Ching Vei, crying out Ch'ng...Ch'ng, Eric Tiw screaming out, everybody crying and wailing, a sound that will never cease to resound in my head.

I saw Brendon's brother, in tears while he was trying to serve us.

It hurts to know he has to put up with sleeping alone now.

I saw Yi Zhang's brother, the tough one,

I've never seen him so down.

Sean, Wah Loon, Soo Liang, Yi Yang, Yi kai, Jun Qi, the scouts, the tough people,

they couldn't hold their tears.

I saw Yong Xiang's grandfather, with white hair, just sitting there. I saw the sorrow in the old man's face. He couldn't understand why would he be in his Grandson's funeral.

I saw Chien Ming, saying it's not true it's not true, I saw the pain. I felt the pain

I saw Brendon's grandfather, crying as he walked by.

I saw his Mother, crying her lungs out.

I saw Yi Yang, in tears, asking me : where's Yi Zhang.

There was pain.

People kept saying that they're still here, with us, we just can't see them.

They still talk to them.

They cry, but they talk to them

I stood in front of Brendon's photo, I talked to him, but I know he can't hear me.

I know he's might not be resting peacefully, although I hope with all my heart and all my soul he is.

How I hope i can be like everyone else, just talking to them, thinking that he'l hear them.

But I know he can't.

I know God,

I know what he's trying to say.

The only reason for the pain, is because I didn't tell them about God,

Death holds no threat if they know God,

If I had told them about God, if they knew God,

my tears would not be of sorrow, but of joy.

A week ago in church I was grunting about not being able to go to Heroes Baptist Youth Camp, I was thinking, God why don't you do something to make me flunk the District Interact Conference and just let me go to the Youth Camp?!

Then it struck me that God may have something for me to do in the DIC, my first thought was that maybe God wanted me to evangelise to the people there, friends there, to tell people about the gospel. So I went to the conference with a heart thinking that I would be given opportunity to evangelise to people, and opportunity arose, they did, there were people asking about God, like Alvin and all, I tried my best to tell him about God, and it progressed a little, I was thinking : This can work, God really wants me to evangelise here, to tell people about the Good News!

Guess what.

As much as God wanted it, He knew I wasn't ready for that.

It just struck me by the end of the conference, that God didn't put me in the conference to influence people, God wanted to see how I would be influenced by the people around me.

He wanted to tell me that:

I have a really stuck up, egoistic and ignorance way of speech.
I don't care or sub-consciously don't care about how others feel.
I think too highly of myself.
I never humble myself.
I never lay down my pride and admit that I'm wrong.
I never think that I'm the one to blame, even when everyone is pointing at me.
I always think the few friends around me talk too harshly, while not noticing I'm the harshest of them all.
I order people more than I ask people to do something.
I don't treat everyone equally.
While wanting people to give me respect, I don't respect others.
Again, I'm too stuck up.

God told me and told me and told me so many times, He reminded me through so many so many ways. But I just couldn't hear or see it. There were two speaker in the conference, Puan Sussie and Dr. Siva I think, said something that is so close to my heart,

-Respect cannot be demanded, only earned. The only way to earn respect is to give out respect.

-Many at times we blame outwards, a good leader blame inwards.

Maybe if I apply these two things in my life, I'd be better. and of course, having God in my heart too.

God also showed me through the conference that I am weak at controlling myself.

Emotions and thoughts, gain control over me, especially emotions.

God showed me so obviously that if I don't control my emotions but let it control me, I'll never be me, I'll never be able to control what I do.

I read this article, it said that we can control our Thoughts, Emotions, Actions and Reactions.

Without controlling them, we're just puppets of emotions and thoughts.

And I've been that puppet for a long long time.

God put into my head, that I need to start living, start to rule myself, to be rational.

It's hard, so hard, to pull myself out from that state, it's like I'm too adapted to it.

I think I shouldn't ignore what God's trying to say anymore.

He's been calling out to me so many so many times, and maybe it's... no, it definitely is time for me to make a stand.

From after I wake up onwards, I won't let emotions control me anymore, I'm gonna get rid of all my negativity and live my life through what God says and what's rational. I'm ridding myself of all useless emotions, until i learn to control them.

I'm gonna win this time.

I was so convinced that I didn't like her at all, that all was just an misunderstood admiration. but why do i feel sad to see her in a relationship?

Shinjuku Incident

This has got to be the most disturbing movie I've seen. The last few were Jean of Ark and New Police Story.

I bought this DVD (Shinjuku Incident) 2 weeks ago and just watched it today after studying physics for a while. It's a very well portrayed movie, undoubtedly.

It talks about illegal Chinese immigrants trying to earn a living in Japan. Jackie Chan, Daniel Wu, Fan Bin Bin was starred in this movie.

The movie start with the chinese immigrants just earning a meagre income through random jobs, but then they encountered the 'dark side' of the city and started doing illegal stuff. (not that being there were legal for them though)

It IS violent, I didn't think that it'd be that violent when I first saw the title.

Jackie Chan didn't display alot of martial arts skill in this movie, he put on a serious face, and was serious throughout the whole movie.

What makes this movie really interesting, (though sorta disturbing for me) is how the characters slowly change as the movie goes on. From the friendly bunch, they start to change to very vicious criminals.

Daniel Wu portrayed his character really really well.

He has a really sad story, and a really sad ending.

The only person who didn't change was Jackie, known as "steel head" in the movie. No spoilers here, but he didn't have a really happy life too.

Give it a try though. =)

It's been a long time since I blogged ( feel like I've said this quite a number of times xD)

It's a week away from exams and here I am. Blogging, not when exams are far away, but when everyone is cracking their heads studying. Calling myself weird, is an understatement.

Anyway, today I received a birthday card from a friend named Jiawei that I got to know through a summer camp (Nan Hua Summercamp) last year in Singapore. *a bit of promotion here, it's an awesome camp xD*

It was really nice receiving a birthday card all the way from another country, it's my first time receiving one. Makes me feel like, even though it's been a year, some of us still keep contact.

Haha, It's been 2 years since I've started going to summercamps, I went to NanHua's summercamp in 2007 and also 2008. It was a really fun experience, and also where I learned to really smile in front of the cam. haha! I also got to know a lot of friends, though a lot of us are busy with our own stuff and don't really communicate alot these days, yet the memories of having fun, working, and eating together will stay there.

In March I went to a camp in Fu Jian, China, it's only between CLHS and He Shan High. Though most of the time we were stuck in their class listening to Maths, Science and History in CHINESE, still it was a really nice experience. Sorry, my mistake, it was an AWESOME experience.

You know normally we have negative opinions on chinese from China for being rude and stuff?

EXCLUDE THE STUDENTS.

Haha, the students there were the friendliest bunch. You'd be smiling back at some student opposite the canteen without knowing who he or she is. A few of us also experienced this: walking on the school compound to find yourself suddenly asked to take a photo with some student you don't even know.

Most of us are still keeping contact, they go home only once a few weeks so we don't get to chat alot though.

We'd also be bombarded with a large amount of students in our tiny little hostel. It'd be full house and more than half the people needed to stand outside.

All in all we feel really really really welcomed.

In July it was the He Shan High's students turn to come to CLHS for a 'sorta like' camp thing.

According to them they didn't really enjoy the food, but they enjoyed the whole camp.

There was this girl 盼盼 who couldn't stop crying when she left my house to go to the airport. According to my friend she cried the whole way home. A really nice girl, *though she forced me to take photos for her throughout the 7 days xD*

I've always said to my friends that I was lucky to be able to go to so many international camps, and normally they'd perli me with : 'Use so much money leh. you rich mah'.

Haha, well actually, I think it's more worth for me to go then because for the Singapore camp I didn't pay alot, and the China camp I just paid for the air tickets, isn't it better than going yourself and paying for the hotel and food?

Actually the real worth is where I actually learnt a lot of different life styles, ed system, learn how to adapt to different places, and so on. And the best thing is I got to know a lot of friends. and I mean ALOT. some are just one time encounters, it still counts. With every different people I met from the camps I have a story to tell, how I met them, what we talked about, how we treated each other and so on.

It feels really good, knowing that at least I've been there, done that.

You guys who have opportunities to attend these kinda camps should really embrace it. ;)

Guess what. Students from China are coming to CLHS for a week!

Though I don't understand why CLHS planned these at these times(h1n1), first thai students, now China students. (i guess it was set a long time ago.)

Anyway, 11 of them are coming(8girls 3 guys ), will be staying here from the 5th of July to the 12th of July. Me, Brendond, Kai Deng and Ti yang are going to host one guy in each of our houses.

The school has also set partners for each an everyone of them. Mine'll be Ji Ping and Ping Ping.

Anyway, there'll be pictures when they come, I'll make sure i take loads of em.

Thailand - Chungling Interacting Day

Oh yeah, that's the national flag of Thailand alright.

Today around 40 students from Thailand came to our school (CLHS). They were from 4 different schools that I didn't bother to remember the names 'cause they were so damn hard to pronounce.

Around 14 of us were asked to help out with the team building and ice-breaking session. The Chinese Orchestra members were there too, around 70 of em. We actually wanted to let the last ice breaking game to bring them high, but turned out the CO members turn high p.r.e.t.t.y easily. Before the ice breaking started they were already on ecstasy mode. Much like the scouts their high bar is quite short, some music then they're on air d.

Anyway, first we had a game where all the participants get a small slip of paper with a word, it's either animals or characters. ec. Michael Jackson, Superman, Fish, Pig and so on.

So what they had to do was act out what they're given without making any sound, then find the team members with the same criteria.

It was amazingly amazing to see people 'moonwalk'ing all around the hall. xD

SO how did the 'emo culture' originate?

WHAT IS EMO?

VERSION ONE
The original emo was short for emotive-hardcore, a subgenre of 1980's DC punk. Some of these bands were Moss Icon, Rites of Spring, and Dag Nasty. These kids were closely tied to punk. The few existing "original" emos dress like nerds with sweater vests and dress pants.

VERSION TWO
This one came up in the early 90's. These kids wear tight shirts and old, cut-up jeans. They have messenger bags and carry around a notebook to write poetry. They have black rimmed glasses and are "over-emotional" but NOT whiny. They get the most down about relationships. They enjoy the arts and reading in-depth books. They have many opinions and often talk about them. They usually hang out in coffee shops. They listen to pretentious or acoustic music.

VERSION THREE
This one came about around the mid-2000's. They have blogs and they whine about everything. They dye their hair with cheap black hair dye. Their hair is messy, greasy, and has side-swept bangs. Their clothes are much like the previous version, only they have a larger emphasis on band tee's and they have started wearing skinny jeans. They love Chuck's and Van's. They listen to pop-punk music and adore Hot Topic. Self-harm is a pretty recent addition to "Emo".

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
Many say the first Emo album was Husker Du's Zen Arcade back in 1984. This actual Emo music managed to stay popular with "Emo" people until about 1999 at which point the media stole this term to describe bands such as Dashboard Confessional and Jimmy Eat World. These became the bands for the next version of Emo. Around 2006 they began to get confused with goths.

WHY IS IT SO POPULAR?
That just became a trend, to be unique. When a lot of people think "unique" they think "unpopular". That is what Emo was before and now it's just a "popular" thing to do when you are "hurting".

The emo ed lesson now comes to an end.

Yes, you can't believe it, I can't believe it,

I'm updating.

You've probably noticed the change in my background, from the previous emo one (which for some reason joey likes) to the more, cheerful one. =) It hurts throwing away my work, the background was created by me, using approximately 10 minutes, it breaks my heart, but I have to discard it. =(

Recently I've noticed ( who hasn't) that quite a number of people are owning dslrs in CLHS, as well as other schools, from around my age group, at least. It's encouraging to see so many people are into photography now.

2 years ago when i got my dslr,

if I stood in the centre of the school and shout,

14-50mm macro lens on sale! F1.0 ! RM400

most students will say: "Siao ar, don't know what he's crapping about."

Now if I do the same thing,

most students will still say: " Siao ar,"

but the remaining sentence will be : " where got so cheap price one?...you 'gang' who?

irony, but still, encouraging. nonetheless.

Our school's leos are mostly made up of photography enthusiasts.

Well, for the week I went to Hui An, Fu jian, China. for a....sorta like student exchange thingy.

It was a blast.

A very nice article i read.

A minister passing through his church

A visit to the Old Folks home.

Just now was the last lesson for the master life group, frankly, i enjoyed it alot. And i learned loads of things from it. xD

After MasterLife, we went to the old folks home.

Before we went in, Daniel briefed us a bit on what to do.

-Talk to them or Help out.

So when we went in, the few of us was like sticking together, 'cause we practically don't know what to do. Mostly, they just stare blankly at you, or completely do nothing.

So Sean and Zhen Kye suggested all of us to pair up, I couldn't agree more.

But then Daniel said : 'Guys, split up'.

o.0

The first person I talked to was smiling all the way. There wasn't anything special. He just kept asking what time it was.

Then I moved on to another person, still nothing special.

They just didn't really like to say anything.

But then i looked in front, Sean, zhen kye, and Joel was still sticking together.

So much for splitting up.

Anyway, the 'senior citizen' they talked to, apparently had a lot to say....

Then the clock struck four. And food came.......for them.

'Cause there was only one person that needs to be fed in the dorm, so a few others moved to another dorm.

So I was feeding this guy porridge. He couldn't speak well or eat himself. His hands kept shaking, and all he could do was point.

Before i knew he couldn't talk normally, I asked him a few questions, but then he was trying to say something, at first i heard ' go gon mm d' we' it was very very soft and i couldn't understand him.

So he repeated a couple of times then only i understood, he was trying to say : 'Ngo gong mm dou wa' means I can't speak in cantonese.

Ouch.

So I started to feed him, after a few spoons, I saw his face getting slightly red, then his eyes started to become a bit red too, then got a watery, slowly, a drop of tear rolled down his cheeks, and another, and another.

I wanted to comfort him, but I don't know why, at that time I couldn't say anything, so I kept on feeding him.

I felt that he must've been wanting people to really care for him, or maybe he thought of some past or something.

Through this I really felt very sad for the people there. I don't think any of them wants to be there, everyone wants to be cared for, and to have a real home to go back to, no matter young or old.

So I believe that through a short visit, to let them know that there are people who are willing to care for them, they would be really happy.

And those who sent their parents to the old folks home are really heartless.

Btw, the nurses there aren't too kind and caring either. They scold them!

Now I know, hearing about stories from people who went to visit the place is totally different from being there to help out. I'm really glad I went.

I've learned my lesson once and for all.

It's 2009!

Looking back,

I nearly can't believe the things that happen in 2008.

I can't express the joy i had in 2008.

It's my best year yet.

'Cause i came to know God.

Last year was 2008 if you still think this year is.=)

Last year I started it with going to 3TA3 in school, and met Sean and Gavin.

They rocked my life.

To the MAX.

Won't go to the details,

but I sincerely thank Sean and Gav, for making my life so joyful, you guys are a blessing,

probably one of the best blessing God gave me.

The years before I know these 2 brothers, i always felt left out. You guys make me feel so good, so cared for.

Then on a school day, Sean invited me to his church. Since then i started to go to church once again. And slowly came to know God more and more.

Then there was youth camp, it was the best camp I've ever attended.

Not only was it fun, it made me grow spiritually, to know more about God.

Oh yeah, and Master Life, helped me to learn how to be God's disciple,

I need to thank God and also Daniel for that.

You're awesome.

In 2008, the best thing that happened was I really came to know God.

And that really put a purpose in my life, and made it more and more meaningful.

And for the people out there who haven't know him.

He is Good and He is God.

He loves me and He loves you.

more than you can imagine.

The sky was so clear, yet, no stars were there to decorate it.

Leaving the moon to shine by itself.

I took another step, moving further and further away. Every step was marked with a footprint, on the inch deep snow. The street was empty, as usual on a winter night. My body was getting weaker and weaker, every step took more and more effort. I looked up, the trees were leafless, snow were covering them as if it were a coat. The voices of laughter and merriness was fading, and it was getting darker and darker. The dim street light wasn't really serving it's purpose, or was my eyelids getting heavy and heavier?

I continued walking, the ice cold wind gushing against my face did not help at all, and it kept on coming, showing no mercy. My legs failed me, and I fell kneeling on the snow bed. Struggling to breathe, every breath froze my lungs. With my last bit of energy, I crawled to a corner, leaned at the brick-red wall, and curled myself up. Remembering the shelter I had, with comfortable heat and everything i needed, and the decision to walk out, cut my heart.

Tears were dropping from my eyes, slowly. When they reached the ground, they were already turned to ice. The snow didn't care about my tears, and kept falling, showing no compassion. As the air grew thinner and colder, I looked up at the crescent moon, glowing by itself. Slowly, some clouds veiled it, and that was the last light, the last glow, I saw.

Life is like a thin glass,

So vulnerable,

So fragile.

A glass rose,

beautiful,

yet with no smell.

How easily it can be dropped,

and shattered.

Moulding back seems,

impossible.

A far dream,

A distant star,

A mirage.

Just when we reach for it,

But then do you know the true meaning of Christmas?

Well i think a lot of you have heard it but I'm still gonna say it,
So bear with me for a while. xD

Like what I said at the top of the post, please finish reading this post ok?

Ok, so on Christmas, Jesus was born, and that was the start of us getting salvation.

You know sometimes we do some stuff and feel bad for it? Well, we know it's wrong, and the wrong things that we do are called sins. And Jesus took away all our sins.

Okay, so i bet ur saying in ur heart: yeah yeah i know i know, heard this loads of times d.

But meditate on this, he didn't just die for our sins.
Before he was crucified on the cross,

He was tortured,
How? the guards made a crown from thorns, and pressed it hard on his forehead, if i use a needle to prick you, you'd probably scream already, so imagine the amount of pain Jesus felt.
And not only that, he was hit, so many times, and was forced to carry the heavy wooden cross and walk to the calvary. The movie The passion of Christ shows it, so if u wana know more about how Jesus was tortured, go watch it, it's saddening.

He was humiliated, betrayed.
Have you ever had a friend, you love him so much, (love as in friendly love) but he suddenly turns his back on you, betrays you, talk bad about you?
Jesus was betrayed by his very own people, by his disciples, he was humiliated by the guards, spit on, yet, he persisted over it, because he was doing it for all of us, because he loves us.

He died a painful death.
You know the most painful part of Jesus being crucified, was not just getting nailed by big fat nails over his hand and feet, it was also when they were rising the cross up, he was hanging with all the pressure on the nails in his feet and hands. imagine that. If i hang you up with just rope on ur hands and feet, would that hurt? Imagine nails!

Can you see it?
The love Jesus has for us?
So Christmas isn't just about all the decorations and all, it's about remembering the day that Jesus came to die, for OUR sins.

Because of Love.

Do you sometimes feel unloved?
Don't because, God is there, and He loves you, he loves all of us, more than anyone.

Out of boredom,

I finally couldn't stand it and started reading a manga.

Chains

It's a dark place, he could see the light. He crawled to the front, struggling to reach it.

But every time he's nearing the light, the chains on his wrist, ankles and neck pulls him back to darkness. And the more time it pulls, the further he is from the light.

At times, he would stop, and give up. Just stay away from the pain of the chains, yet, not reaching the distant light. The longer he stops, the further he flows away.

And emptiness dwells in his heart. The hollowness he feels inside, as if there isn't any meaning to life. To live, is to await death.

The cold breeze blowed against his face. As if assuring him that if he stays here, hope would fail to exist. Pain struck his heart like a knife stabbing. Crystal tears started to flow, slowly, down his cheeks. His heart was bleeding, he watched him self dying slowly, in this solemn place.

All he needed was persistence, perseverance, and determination and he knew that well. All he needed was to endure the pain, and make his way to the light, no matter what obstacles will he face.

He strengthened his heart, cleared his mind, stood up, pulling himself against the chains. And walked to the light, again. If he fell, he would crawl, with his bare hands and feet. The chains were pulling him back, scarring his hands and feet, he ignored the pain, and kept going, thorns were all around, and cut his face and arms, cold wind blew against him, stronger than ever, yet he moved on, every step he took, got him closer the the light.

And he knew, once he reaches the light, the chains would be gone, and he would be free.

He looked to the light, smiled, and continued crawling.

Today at CG, we had like, some sort of party or something.

When me and Sean arrived there, we saw ben and daniel playing table tennis, which Was, one of the activities.

So me, shen hoong and sean joined in, and showed the world how sucky we are in table tennis.

We had loads of fun though.

Then later the Pizzas arrived.

They ordered US Pizza, which was scrumptious, I had around 5-6 slices. pepperoni and jumbo. woot, it was awesome.

Later on, some of us played sevens or something, and some other board games i don't remember their names. A few of us played grabbles. which is a game, that is fun, but too bad im lazy to explain how to play.

Daniel loh dominated the game.

Okay, later on we played table tennis again!

This time king of the court, the King varies among 2 people only, daniel loh, and ben hoe.

But daniel lost, purposely to let sean become the King! he lasted for like 10 seconds, a great achievement, i would say.

All in all, we had loads of fun. =)

Oh yeah, and after this, I'm not gonna be online anymore until after pmr.

so that means no blogging.

no manga-ing.

no you-tube-ing.

no nothing.

sheesh.
